Donwhamoon – Korean Changdukgoong front door

Donhwamun (昌德宮 敦化門) in Changdeokgung Palace is the main gate of Changdeokgung Palace. It is designated as Korea’s Treasure No. 383.
It was built in the 12th year of Taejong (1412), 7 years after the completion of Changdeokgung Palace.
Donhwa (敦化) means’to strengthen edification’ and is taken from Chapter 30 of 《Jungyong》. [Commentary 1]
