Overview
Tap colored oil tanker trucks to fuel up rockets and launch them before they reach the control tower. A unique blend of traffic-jam untangling and color-matching strategy — every decision matters.
Gameplay
Fuel. Fill. Fly. The core loop is simple to learn and endlessly satisfying to master:
- Tap an oil tanker truck of the right color.
- Move it into an open fuel slot.
- Fill the matching rocket’s fuel gauge automatically.
- Fly — when a rocket’s gauge is full, it blasts off. Every launch pulls the whole convoy back from the tower, restoring the danger gauge.
But you’d better keep moving — if any rocket reaches the control tower before you fuel it, it’s game over.
The Core Tension
Rocket Jam is built around one simple idea: launching a rocket is your lifeline. The control tower is always drawing closer — each rocket that still needs fuel is a step closer to disaster. Fuel a rocket fully and it blasts off, pulling the entire convoy backward and giving you room to breathe. The gauge you see isn’t just a timer — it’s the real distance between the lead rocket and the tower.
It’s Not a Matching Game
You won’t find a simple “connect three” here. The fuel in each color is split automatically across every rocket of that color. That means a single truck can top off a small rocket, while a huge one needs several trips. Which rocket to charge first is a real decision — charge the one that’s about to reach the tower, or fill a slow-but-sure rocket to bank a launch? The board is packed with interlocking trucks, so untangling the right path is a puzzle in itself.
A Rhythm of Choices
- Read the convoy — which rocket is closest to the tower, and how much fuel does it need?
- Solve the grid — free the trucks you need by moving others in the right order.
- Bank launches — every blast-off restores the gauge, so chain them to survive the late stages.
- Use partial fills — small trucks can start a big rocket, and a medium or large truck finishes it.
A Stage for Every Skill
The first stages teach one idea at a time — basic puzzles, then pure puzzle boards, conveyor belts that feed trucks in, small doors that release them, mixed mechanics that combine everything, and finally a giant boss rocket finale. After ten hand-crafted tutorial levels, the game generates 1,000+ seed-based stages that are identical for every player, so you can compare strategies with friends.
Key Features
- Strategic Puzzle — Plan which rocket to fill first. Fuel totals auto-split across rocket gauge marks.
- Time Pressure — Rockets continuously approach the control tower. Distance = time. No countdown timer.
- 6 Unique Stage Types — Pure puzzle, conveyor belts, small doors, mixed mechanics, and a giant boss rocket finale.
- 1,000+ Levels — First 10 hand-crafted tutorial stages, then seed-based randomized levels (same for everyone).
- Neon Retro Visuals — Incredibles-style mid-century rocket design, chrome bodies, and neon fuel gauges.
- Relaxed Depth — Not a match-3 clone. Deciding which rocket to charge first is where the real strategy lives.
Visual Concept
Mid-century retro sci-fi charm with a neon twist: bullet-shaped rockets with red nose cones and chrome bodies, glowing cyan fuel gauges, and a tense space-launch atmosphere. Built for a clean, readable mobile screen.
